Gloucestershire Engineering Training provides apprentice training services to some of the biggest engineering and manufacturing organisations within Gloucestershire across a diverse range of engineering specialisms. We currently have a vacancy for an Administrator on our custom-built site in Gloucester.


VACANCY - ADMINISTRATOR

Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 36.25 per week

Location: Barnwood, Gloucester, GL4 3HX

Responsibilities

This position will provide support to our Employers with regards to learner issues, and will have the specific responsibility of providing them with administrative support and guidance during their recruitment process. This will involve liaison directly with the Employer contacts via the telephone, email and face to face where appropriate.

Tasks involved in co-ordinating the apprentice recruitment include managing vacancies and coordinating applications, scheduling and carrying out initial assessments, collation and management of assessment results.

The individual will also assist the Learner Co-ordinator with aspects of learner administration, including maintaining and updating Learner records on bespoke IT systems, creating and maintaining Learner files.

Additional duties will also include covering reception and telephones during lunch and holidays/absence, providing support for events and general administration duties, including typing, scanning, photocopying, archiving, and filing.


Skills/Qualifications Required

The successful candidate must have administrative work experience in a busy office environment and demonstrate excellent customer service skills. They should also hold the following skills and attributes:

  • Be able to work efficiently and accurately, with a flexible and organised approach to tasks
  • Be proficient in IT, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Have a confident, proactive, approachable and professional manner
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with confidential information sensitively.

Due to the nature of our work, this role is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Terms and Conditions

Salary: Dependant on qualifications and experience.

Working hours: 36.25hrs per week. 8am – 4.15pm. Finish at 1.15pm on Friday.

Our Organisation

Gloucestershire Engineering Training has been providing work-based learning in engineering for 40 years. We train apprentices in Mechanical, Electrical, Maintenance, Welding & Fabrication and also offer a Dual Skill programme for those employers who require multi-skilled individuals.

We are the only training facility in the County that is run by the Manufacturing & Engineering industry for the Engineering Industry. We currently provide training services to the biggest engineering and manufacturing organisations within Gloucestershire across a diverse range of engineering specialisms from aeronautical to intelligent communication systems; from the production of drill bits to credit cards.

We provide learners with the basic underpinning knowledge and skills required across all facets of engineering within their first year of training, and then focus on their chosen career pathway or specialism once the learners have returned to their employer's premises.

Our vision is to be the hub of Engineering Training Expertise in the county and we strongly believe that this cannot be achieved without high quality and dedicated members of staff.
