What you will learn

During the course you will learn the following:

  • Work safely at all time complying with health and safety legislation, regulations and other guidelines.
  • General CNC G and M Codes used whilst setting. 
  • Operation of Optional Stop, Block Skip and Single Block.
  • Operation of MDI and its uses. 
  • Program prove out and safe test features
  • Tool setting using Cut, Measure and Touch On Techniques.
  • Adjustment of Tool Offsets and Wear Offsets.
  • Editing programs on the machine control.
  • Load and save machine programs.
  • Clocking in workpiece/vice
  • Understanding machine coordinate systems and setting of Work Offsets and Datums.
  • Understanding when to seek assistance during production.

Benefits/Progression

All practices will be carried out on either Haas 2 Axis ST10 CNC Lathes or 3 Axis Haas TM1 CNC Mills.

All skills will be transferable to any CNC Mill or Lathe. 

The course can be tailored to be delivered at your company in line with your procedures and machines.

2-Day theory and practical-based course.

Entry Requirements

The course is recommended as further training from a CNC Operator. A standalone Operator/Setter course is also available.

By arrangement, various dates and delivery methods available.

Location

Gloucestershire Engineering Training, Barnwood Point, Gloucester or customers' workplace for relevance.

Cost

£2400, up to 4 delegates.
