Following the employer briefing last week, we wanted to share a reminder of some important updates to apprenticeship funding that may affect you.
Apprenticeships continue to be a fantastic way to develop skilled talent within your business, and staying informed about funding changes ensures you can continue to make the most of the opportunities available.
- SME Co-Investment Removal (April 2026): For non-levy paying employers, apprenticeships for anyone aged under 25 will be 100% funded
- SME Age 25+: Employers continue to pay 5% co-investment for apprentices aged 25 and over
- Levy Payer Co-Investment Change (Aug 2026): For levy payers exceeding their funds, the government co-investment rate drops from 95% to 75%, meaning employers will pay a 25% share for training
- Levy Expiry: The expiration period for unused levy funds will be reduced from 24 months to 12 months
