What you will learn

During the course you will learn the following:

  • What is electricity? Electrical safety, risk of electric shock. 
  • Introduction to Electricity at Work Regulation and BS7671: 18th Edition. 
  • Safely isolate and work with Electrical Circuits (Lock out Tag Out).
  • Interpret Electrical drawings. 
  • Identify common components (circuit protection, contractors, overload devices, transformers, mounting equipment. 
  • Build and test of a working 3-phase motor control panel.
  • Continuity, Insulation Resistance and Polarity Testing of circuits. 
  • Fault finding procedures.

This is an introductory course and provides the fundamental health and safety awareness and basic principles of wiring and testing only.
