What you will learn

During this course you will learn how to carry out basic welding in one or more of the following processes:

  • MIG 
  • TIG 
  • MMA

You will learn the Health and Safety specifics to welding, basic process fundamentals, how to set and adjust the welding parameters, the consumables required, perform basic welding joints and how to recognise weld defects including their causes. 

As standard the course includes training in the following welds, in 3mm and 6mm mild steel plate:

  • Lap Joint
  • Tee Fillet
  • Open Corner
  • Butt Joint

Other specific techniques, material or job-specific welds can be catered for upon request.

5 days of day release.

Entry Requirements

Good hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity.

No formal qualifications required.

Gloucestershire Engineering Training, Barnwood Point, Gloucester.

Cost

£1320 per delegate (maximum of 5 delegates).
