That’s a wrap on National Apprenticeship Week 2026!
What a week! 🎉
That’s a wrap on National Apprenticeship Week, and what a brilliant few days it’s been for everyone at GET.
We’ve seen our apprentices making fantastic progress in both their practical training and academic studies, and we’ve welcomed new enquiries from businesses looking to recruit apprentices – a real sign of confidence in the future of engineering.
It was great to attend Renishaw’s apprenticeship showcase event at New Mills on Wednesday and celebrate the opportunities available across the sector. Dan and Jenny also enjoyed the Spirax Alumni evening in Cheltenham – reconnecting with industry colleagues and sharing experiences.
We finished the week on a high with our annual open evening, welcoming over 140 visitors through our doors. A special thank you to our first-year apprentices who stayed on to support the event – delivering tours, running demonstrations, and confidently showcasing their skills to prospective learners and parents. You represented yourselves and your employers brilliantly.
It’s been fantastic to see so many people engaging with engineering and apprenticeships this week. The future of our industry is in safe hands. 👏
